A couple puppies were absent from the last week of this session so we don't have an 'official' graduation picture - we missed you!

We'll continue to see some of these puppies  grow, as they move into the next level. (We make a point to keep the classes small so each puppy receives the time and attention he deserves)

Calm, Coping and in Command

IMG_5201.jpg

The dogs are the ones "in Command". SATS (SynAlia Training System)  goes to a deeper level than many other systems since your dog is learning to change his own "addiction" to the adrenaline rush he gets from reacting over and over to stressors.  We start by teaching each dog to recognize his mental state and then help teach him how to manage that state through a process called "Conditioned Relaxation"

Puppy Class Starting-July 29, 2014

IMG_4178

This is a 6 week S.T.A.R. Puppy Class

Why do you want to take this class? Your puppy will:

Start the Basic Commands: Be doing Confidence Building Exercises: Begin to Learn Impulse Control: Learn Body Awareness - YES, he has front and back feet and needs to learn where they are and how they move: Have Fun - experiencing all sorts of moving, wobbling and rolling activities along with new sounds and surfaces: Receive a Certificate from the American Kennel Club (providing all the requirements for their program are met)

This will all help him be on his way to having a great start in life and will make YOUR life with your puppy more enjoyable. It can also eliminate many of the problems that could crop up later if he does not start out with a solid foundation.

ALL CLASS SIZES ARE LIMITED!  Your puppy will not be lost in a group of 15....12.... or even 10 puppies. We feel that such a large number of pups can be way too overwhelming for you and your pup, and that you would not be getting the attention and time you both deserve.

This is an evening class. CONTACT US NOW before the class is full

New Puppy Class Forming

Action-pull-stairs.jpg

Puppy, pulling down the stairs Action - steps not pulling

We have some puppies ready for class. Are you looking for a class where your pup can begin the basics of life and start off on the right foot/paw? Contact us now for more information!

Picture your pup learning the basics correctly right from the very start so you are not having to "fix" things later.

Imagine teaching your dog to think and use his mind - draining him mentally so that he doesn't have the excess energy to use for all the mischief that pups can so often get into.

Imagine your home-life being happier and calmer because your puppy is calmer.

He'll also find out that different surfaces and noises are not scary, they are fun! Life is exciting and he will love going places with you.

You will enjoy him as a valued family member. He'll learn how he fits in your life and what role he plays.

We can help you achieve this!

Agility Workshop-Jump Handling Skills

Jump-Handling-Skills210.jpg

Last year's Jump Handling Skills Workshop by Lori Grove was filled quickly. There have been numerous requests for her to offer another one. Here it is!

Sunday, March 23rd     2-5PM

This workshop concentrates on handling skills you will need to maneuver typical agility course sequences such as wraps, 270's, 180's, serpentines, threadles and back sides of jumps. This will include front crosses, rear crosses, blind jumps and more

EARLY BIRD SIGN-UP: $60 (Before March 12th)  Limited to 6 Teams

Lori started agility over 20 years ago with her Cocker Spaniel obedience dog, Frazier. After getting her first Q at the Wine Country Circuit (in the dark), she was hooked.

She has competed in AKC, CKC and CPE so far. Today her partner is another Cocker Spaniel, "Indy" - CH MACH2 CATCH Landmarks Midsummer Night's Dream. She has also been lucky enough to run a few other breeds owned by friends and students as well as titling her second breed, a Gordon Setter.

Manners, Confidence & Fitness!

Demi-wobble.jpg

Why do you want this class?

  • The opportunity for your dog to practice the “Basic Behaviors” (sit; down; come) around a variety of distractions – people, dogs, noises, etc. All  things you’d encounter in your home or out on a walk at the park or in town.
  • All dogs are happier if they are confident. This Class is especially good for shy or timid dogs and pups but also beneficial for every dog to help them realize they are capable of figuring out problems and sorting out how to navigate things they may feel are scary.
  • Often, dogs and puppies are overfed and under-exercised. Just like people, they may lack the necessary core strength to maintain (or build) a healthy body. These are all done at a level  your dog can handle, gradually increasing in difficulty as they are able.

This Program includes:

  • 6 Group Classes
  • Distractions during Sits, Downs, and Come
  • Fun exercises to build your dog’s confidence
  • Exercises to increase your dog’s fitness level

For puppies over 6 months through senior dogs Due to limited class size (only 6 teams) and the fact that this class is not offered on a regular basis,  NOW is the time to jump in and sign up before you miss the opportunity.

Wednesday, February 26th  (daytime)  EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT if you sign up before February 17th

Requirements: Your dog needs basic knowledge and skill with:  Sit; Down; Come Your dog already knows these behaviors, but this class will improve their consistency to follow through with commands during distractions. 6 TEAMS ONLY!
