American Kennel Club (AKC) Programs & Titles
The AKC offers four titles that any breed or mix can earn as recognition of their excellent behavior and training. Not only can we help your dog achieve these honors from what's covered in class, but as a certified AKC Evaluator, Bonita can also administer the exams.
AKC Canine Good Citizen
As an approved CGC Evaluator I help you to prepare your dog for passing the CGC Test. We also offer the Testing to achieve this Title. The class includes the prep work needed for your dog to pass in TDI (Therapy Dog). Ten individual tests must all be passed to receive the CGC Title. We work on each of these tests in class as well as practice the requirements for becoming a Therapy Dog. The test is given on the last week of the session.

AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU)

AKC Community Canine Title:
This Title started being offered by the AKC in October of 2013, and is an advanced level of the Canine Good Citizen Title. We are offer classes and testing. Your dog must first pass the CGC testing (see below) before taking this test. If your dog already know the exercises, we can test you without needing to take the class.

Find out more about our very popular S.T.A.R. Puppy Classes HERE. We often have a waiting list. This class teaches you how to best communicate with your puppy. They learn that their back legs move independently from their front legs and YES - all four can sometimes go in completely different directions at once! All dogs deserve training – the goal is to reward responsible pet ownership and to have happy puppies and owners.
When you complete this basic training class with your puppy (up to 1 year old), your puppy is eligible to be enrolled in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. It is open to purebreds and mixed breed dogs.
